What you need

  • A German certificate of at least B1 (Goethe, telc, ÖSD, TestDaF or ECL)
  • As a nurse: a nursing qualification, for example a diploma or a bachelor’s degree
  • As a trainee: a school leaving certificate, for example a baccalaureate or a secondary school certificate
  • A CV

You do not have a certificate yet?

First take your German exam, at least B1. Then apply to us. We do not offer language courses.

Beware of fraud

Cranich Care never asks you for money. If anyone asks for money in our name, do not pay and contact us immediately.

Are you from a country on the WHO list?

Private agencies may not place nurses in Germany from some countries, because those countries lack nurses themselves. This is based on a list by the World Health Organization (WHO). If you come from one of these countries, we unfortunately cannot place you. Please ask the Federal Employment Agency about government programmes.

Frequently asked questions

Does the placement cost me anything?

No. You pay us nothing, no fee and no advance payment. The facility that hires you pays for our work.

How much will I earn?

Your salary is set out in your employment or training contract. It must be as high as for German colleagues in a comparable position; the Federal Employment Agency checks this. Until recognition, nurses usually earn a little less than afterwards.

How long until I can travel to Germany?

Usually six to twelve months from the contract. Most of the time is taken by the authorities and the embassy.

Is German B1 enough?

Yes, a certificate of at least B1 is enough to apply. For full recognition as a nurse you usually need B2; you take the course in Germany while working.

Where will I work?

In a care home or hospital in Germany. You get to know the facility beforehand in a video call.

Can I bring my family?

This is often possible. The requirements depend on your residence permit. We discuss this with you personally.

Do I need work experience?

As a nurse, work experience helps but is not required. For nursing training you need none.
